Vecka Elva [Week 11]

Käre Familj och Vänner,

This week has been great!  The only thing missing was the sun.  The Elders from Visby had a baptism of Two older ladies this past Saturday, and it was wonderful.  The spirit is really strong at baptismal services!  The one is a lady from China who has tons of energy.  When she came out of the water she said, "Hallelujah!"  Then when asked if she had thoughts to share, she stood up and said in her Chinese Swedish, "I want to follow Jesus, and I want all of us to follow Jesus."  It was really cool.  Then at stake conference yesterday, she came up to us and said, "hurray for Israel!"  Someone must have taught her that last one, but it was super funny to hear, and it was a highlight of that day.

We found another crazy guy at the same place we found the guy we had a baptismal date with.  This guy had a dream about Jesus 2 years ago, and had barely heard a word about him before then.  Ever since then he's believed in Jesus, and doesn't like other churches because they don't talk enough about Jesus.  We taught him the first lesson, and he loved it!  We got him a Mormons Bok, and got his port code and address so we can visit him (he just got a new number, and left his phone inside so he couldn't give us his number).  Really positive though, and things are looking better for that guy who had the baptismal date as well.  We received contact with his mom now through a window, so we're getting closer. :)  We also have an investigator family who we're teaching this week, who seem really positive!   Sadly our most positive investigator up to this point dropped us.  He'll come back sometime though, and I'm sure he'll get baptized when he does.

One of the biggest parts of Preach My Gospel is inviting and following up on commitments.  This is vital to changing, and as such, should not be taken lightly.  Don't be afraid to make and keep commitments and don't be afraid to invite others to make and keep commitments.  That is where true power comes from, and how we can become the best we can be.  By making and keeping sacred commitments with our Heavenly Father.

Stake conference was fantastic!  President Dyches was very blunt with us, but in a great way.  He told us what we need to change, and didn't offend us in doing so.  He invited us to have family scripture study every day, and to never miss a single day.  I'd like to invite all of you to do the same.  We do it in our 4-man currently and the blessings are noticeable.  Do it and never miss a day.  What is your biggest priority?  Put scripture study and prayer as a family up there.  It will change your lives, and make a huge difference.  President Dyches would have them do it before everyone left for the night, and if there were friends over, they were invited to join.  Now with technology being as advanced as it is, there is no excuse for not having family scripture study every night.  If it takes a phone call, a skype call, or a reminder, do it.  Every day, make it the priority.

Our mission president's wife invited us to give 5-second moments this Christmas season.  It only takes 5 seconds to say, "I love you" and mean it.  It only takes 5 seconds to do anything encouraging and mean it.  So do that too.  Soon enough you'll be giving 10 seconds, then 15 seconds, and so on until the whole world is happy!

Sunday Stake conference we were invited to lay down our weapons of rebellion, whatever they may be, and pray to God to communicate with him, not just say stuff.  So take time to examine your lives, and find those weapons of rebellion, and lay them down.  Give those 5 seconds and also make family prayer and scripture study a priority!  Three commitments for the Christmas season and beyond.  I invite you to make those commitments, and discover the power and blessings you can receive as you are faithful to becoming more righteous.

The Church is true, and Joseph Smith saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.  If you do not know this by the power of the Holy Ghost, find out.  I know that Heavenly Father blesses all of his children, and that he answers each and every one of our prayers.  I know the Church is true.

Med Kärlek,

Äldste Liddle
