Hejsan!
This week was another busy, crazy, good week. We had zone conference this week and my companion and I were asked to attend two. The first one was on Tuesday. They had a few themes though. The first was President Beckstrand's theme of seeing with our spiritual eyes and using that to allow us to dig deeper and give more in those moments when it gets really hard. I was taken back to my time as a runner when we'd say things like, "Last one doesn't count!" and "the race doesn't stop at the line" to get us to push harder and run faster, but my favorite one came from McKay Mace, "You can give more! You've got more, give more!" It's so true. When we look at us through our spiritual eyes we will see that we have more to give. We will see our potential and what God wants us to be. What He can do through us.
Theme 2 was language study and general administration things from the Assistants. It was definitely needed, but not the most spiritual part of the meeting. Sister Beckstrand talked about having a personal relationship with the Savior, and that was a very powerful part of the meeting. We watched a short video clip which was a silent interview of a few Christians where they were asked questions and told to answer them silently. The questions were: Do you believe in Christ? Who is Jesus Christ to you? Would you consider Him a friend? Think of the hardest moment in your life. Think of the happiest moment in your life. Was He there during those? When you see Him face to face, what will you say to Him? What will He say to you? That was a powerful video. When you really internalize those questions it hits you deep. We need a personal relationship with the Savior in order to go forward and have peace in this life and eternal life in the world to come.
On Saturday we had a huge Easter activity in Stockholm. We hard-boiled 164 eggs and dyed them and were handing them out to people on the street and referring them to a table where people were watching the Church's Easter video, #Hallelujah. They were there instructed and led to the YSA center where we were watching the video and serving free waffles. We had 66 people come into the YSA center, and missionaries taught 37 lessons there. 12 missionary companionships participated, including a senior couple. It was big. And a great success. We had many people get phone numbers from people and return appointments. It was wonderful!!!!
This week has been great and makes me very grateful for the opportunity I have to be a missionary here in Sweden! The Church is true!
