Hejsan!
I have no clue where to begin because it feels like I haven't written anything for a long time. I'll try to focus on this week though. Things started out great with a full Monday. Tuesday we had the Zone Leaders down here for workovers. I really enjoyed my time with Elder Bradshaw, who taught me a lot. We worked hard the whole day, and were trying to conquer any fears we had that could prevent us from working as hard as we could, and it went well. We started out by teaching one of our investigators about the restoration, and he is very sincerely seeking to know that the Book of Mormon is true. He has a rough back story, but he knows how the Spirit speaks to him, so we were able to work on that to get him to recognize an answer. After that we did tracting for 2 hours, and we found 3 families that wanted us to come back, and we taught quite a few people in the area. We thought we were going to see the northern lights because we saw the trails in the sky that come before the northern lights, but they never came.
Wednesday we worked all day finding since no one could meet, and we also had district meeting. District meeting was on humility, and it went better this time than last time. We talked a lot about how humility can come from prayer. While out finding tonight we found some really good people. One of them said she'd work on getting her neighbor to meet with us and believing in God, the other took us in and told us about his incredible experience finding Jesus and wants us to come back and help him to do right with the knowledge he's received since he feels its very new and he doesn't quite know what to do with it.
Thursday was New Years Eve, so at 5:00 we were supposed to stop going out to proselyte, and try to be with members the rest of the night. We had a few appointments set up, and two of them fell through, but one of them we were looking for one guy, and apparently he doesn't live there, but someone with the same name as him lives there, and loves America and wants to read the Book of Mormon. So it worked out. We found another family today from Albania, and they want to learn more about our church as well. The lesson with them was a little rushed, but the Spirit was there, and they are going to read and they also know how the Spirit feels, so they will recognize the answer to their prayers as well. They are wonderful.
Friday was P-day and weekly planning since it was a holiday, so it was really weird. We got a lot of good planning in, and the day was fun. But Saturday was a really good day. We went down to Hudiksvall, and visited a bunch of people who were sick and just said hi to them and gave them some get well soon treats. We went to our first lesson we had set up, and it went great. It was with S____ and E____ who have baptismal dates for the 15th of May. They are progressing really well, and are very committed to that date. They had a lot of good questions, and a few concerns, but we were able to resolve everything by turning to the scriptures, and words of latter day prophets. It was a very strong and spiritual lesson. After that we met with a less-active and her non-member husband, and they were also really good. We mostly got to know them, but we read a scripture and talked about it, and challenged them to pray together every night. After that we went for our dinner appointment with another less-active lady and her non-member husband. They gave us spare ribs, so we were happy. But the coolest part was the discussion we had over dinner. It was a normal dinner conversation until he brought up his experience finding God, and his testimony of the power of prayer, and that led into both of them talking about their desire to quit smoking, and how they know it's possible with help from God and each other. From there he talked about how he was similar to Joseph Smith, because he felt lost, and needed knowledge, so he prayed, and received help and power from God. We talked a lot about that, then talked about how we need to remember Lot's wife, and not look back, but press forward, and shared 2 Nephi 31 with them. They really loved it and the Spirit was very strong. We then shared the story of Christ calling his apostles and how they "Left their nets" to follow him. We invited them to leave their "nets" and come closer to Christ, and they accepted that invitation. It was a wonderful time with them, and it was really good to feel the Spirit so strong there and see their testimonies.
Sunday was the day to cap all things as we saw how miraculous this week was. This week we had three families become investigators, and received a lot of potential people that we need to visit. We followed up with people we had taught before in our area, and they were very willing to listen and to act. To give it a shot. And things are going great. We talked in Priesthood about being missionaries and how simple it is. It comes down to our testimony. We must bear our testimonies as often as we can. If we don't, it's like wrapping a gift and never giving it. It's good for nothing. I've seen that as we share our testimonies, we allow our spiritual eyes to open to see the miracles God is working around us every day. The Lord is hastening His work. We are to make sure that we are seeing it, and allowing ourselves to grow as a result.
I love you all, have a wonderful week!
