This week was really an interesting week. We worked really hard, and did many great things. I also gave my companion a haircut, which was my first time cutting someone else's hair. Don't worry, it doesn't look bad, despite my lack of formal training. We had a great family home evening with the branch that night as well, and had a couple of our investigators there as well!
Tuesday turned from a packed day to a day full of finding, and we did a lot to find people from the area book. We had a correlation meeting where the Branch President/Branch Mission Leader expressed his joy in our key indicators, and the work we had done. It was nice to see the trust the branch here has in us, and their confidence in us and our abilities as well. They were so excited last Sunday.
Wednesday we had district meeting in Uppsala, and there we talked about coordination with the Ward Mission Leader. It was very good, and afterwards we went back to our area, and ended up blessing the home of a less active here, and running from there to get dinner, and then to a member present lesson with our most promising investigator. The lesson was really good, but it was a little too aggressive and fast for him, so he got a little scared and asked for a two week break since he felt this was too much right now. It's too bad. He knew the Book of Mormon was true, but wasn't ready to act on the answer fully. He'll get there though. It's just a two week break, then we will teach him again, but at a slower pace this time.
Thursday we did a lot of hard work again, and did all finding, but it was a good day. We met a less active that was really fun to talk to. He also had a huge Bible (and I mean really huge)! We had a good talk with him about faith, and got to know him a bit better. Friday we did our weekly planning, and our district leader wanted to go on splits with me to go contacting for about 30 min. since he hasn't worked with me before, and wanted to before he gets transferred, and since he was interviewing someone here in Gävle, it was a perfect opportunity. We did that, then ran off with a member to go teach a lesson to a guy who ended up not showing up, and our other appointment cancelled on us, so we were contacting, and calling people, then we got a call asking why where we were, from a guy that we had asked if he could meet at the library and he never responded so we assumed he didn't know. Turns out he did, so we went and taught him, and then taught another guy in the library and went off to a member dinner. Friday was a really good day other than the discouragement of two people cancelling on us or not showing up.
Saturday was special as we got to go to the temple with our branch. We had a new member do baptisms for the dead, and then our branch got to do a session together, and one of the members of the branch presidency offered a prayer, in which he was originally thinking of praying specifically for our branch, but it ended up being the entire stake, blessing us to have the strength to be a light to those around us, and that the Spirit would be poured out upon this area. I had a chance after the session to think and pray a lot just talking to my Heavenly Father about what was going on, and what I needed to do, and what was expected of me. It was a great experience and helped me understand a lot of things that were happening at the time better.
Sunday we had a great time in church as it was a wonderful spiritual feast again. Especially the sacrament. You could tell that it was the highlight of the meeting despite the Spirit that was present during the talks that were held, and the inspiration we received from those. We did some tracting after church, and came home a little discouraged, so my companion decided he was going to call up some people, and I ended up talking to one guy for almost an hour and changing his attitude quite a bit, and he now wants to meet with us because of things I said to him. It was a really good close to the week.
I find it interesting how on a mission you go from your absolute high to your absolute low, and back in less than a day. How every little experience affects us so much. The smallest little pieces of discouragement can wear at us to the point that they take us to our knees and make us want to give up, while the smallest little pieces of joy illuminate our days and weeks. The work is hard as a missionary, but it is worth every bit of it. It is a blessing. It is a privilege, and an opportunity that should not be taken for granted. This church is true, and it is a great privilege to be set apart as a witness of the truth and a representative for the Savior of the world.

PS, turns out I can cook Korv stew. It was really good. Apparently I'm a good cook. Thanks for teaching me, Mom!
This must be the Korv stew.
At the Stockholm Temple. So The Editor and Äldste Liddle were in Stockholm at the same time.
Äldste Bliss and Äldste Burke sent this photo to Äldste Liddle. This is at the back of the chapel/cultural hall area.
