Vecka Åttionio [Week 89]

Hejsan!

This week was really great!  We started out by working hard, and ended with a baptism.  Can't ask for much better.  We met with our baptismal candidate almost every day this week, and had some form of contact daily.  It is really interesting how the first baptism that I have received on my mission was a "textbook" convert baptism.  A referral from a member, taught with a member present almost every lesson, close to daily contact, met with him at the same time almost every week, came to church, kept all the commitments, teaching record was filled in with detail and care, got interviewed, baptized and confirmed.  And the members have been working closely with us to keep him active.

We discussed a principle this week when we discovered that after 4 days we were well above pace on our goals, and the principle is similar to "winning the morning."  I like to call it, "Winning the Monday."  Monday is the beginning of the week out here, and as a result it's the most important day because if you have a great hard-working Monday, the rest of the week will be great and hard-working.  If you have a low-work Monday, the rest of the week usually follows.  But we need to get up, out and at 'em right away to make sure we are always at our best.

Another miracle that happened this week was the amount of positive people we talked to.  We walked a route in a place called Södermalm (Southern Stockholm)  and almost everyone we talked to ignored, got mad at, or opposed us.  So we were thinking that was a bad area of Södermalm to go contacting in.  But we decided to give it another shot, and it turns out it was a good idea.  Because there were positive people out that day and things went just as we needed them to go.  As we seek the Spirit in planning we will be guided to those who need our help.

Mvh,
