Vecka Åttiosex [Week 86]

Dear Family and Friends,

I decided to greet you all diferently this week.  Things are going really well out here.  My English keeps getting worse and worse.  Some big things happened this week.

First was Valborgmässoafton.  Its a big celebration where we light a huge bonfire, and have a good time with friends and family, celebrating the spring and new life that comes with it.  We also got to see the cherry blossoms in Kungsträdgården, which were very beautiful.  One of our members owns a waffle truck and gave us some Belgian pommes frites.  They were really good, and a filling meal.

We have been teaching an investigator recently named Ramazan who has decided to get baptized on the 21st of May.  Things have been going really well with him.  He is very humble, and acts upon everything we teach him, which combines for a very prepared person.  This week we taught him about prophets, Joseph Smith, living day prophets, and the Word of Wisdom.  We have set up to meet with him twice a week, and he is progressing well and preparing for baptism.  It's very exciting.

We also went on workovers in Borlänge this week and that was another great time.  I really liked working with Elder Scott and learning from his passionate teaching style.  He is an excellent missionary.  On Wednesday we taught a person who could be described as a "hippie Christian."  He's vegetarian, and is very much about love and peace.  We contacted him on the street a while back and gave him a [copy of the] Book of Mormon.  He told us this time it seemed to start in the middle of a chapter, and we looked at it and it did.  It started on 1 Ne. 4:10.  That was a very fun lesson.  Everything went well in the end.

I love being a missionary, and being able to share the gospel with everyone around me.  It really does bring joy to the individual and family!  It is the only way to find true and lasting peace in this life and in the life to come.
