Here is a recent email from President and Sister Welch regarding Christmas gifts.

Dear Parents of Beloved OCM Missionaries,

We extend our greetings and our appreciation to you for sharing your wonderful sons and daughters with us.  They are true disciples of Jesus Christ and at this Christmas time we acknowledge your sacrifice in having them away from home. They are having wonderful experiences here that will bless them and your family for their entire lives.

Christmas Mail and Packages

Our next transfer cycle will be Nov. 13 through Dec. 18th. (Notice this is only a five week cycle). If your son or daughter is transferred to a new area, they will notify you of their new address on Monday Nov. 12th. Please send their Christmas packages to their own addresses and NOT to the mission office or mission home. Packages must arrive to them on or before Dec. 17th.

Packages arriving after December 17 may be addressed to the mission office:

We will do our very best to get packages to your son or daughter, however, it becomes problematic to deliver throughout our large geographic mission area, so please assist us if possible, by mailing early and directly to their apartment.

Christmas Gifts

Because missionaries have certain policies and guidelines to follow given to us by the Church, remember not to send books or  DVD's to missionaries.

We would also invite you to visit the following link before purchasing items of clothing to send.  For example, Elders cannot wear colorful socks, narrow ties, or use backpacks.  Many Sisters could use neutral jackets and sweaters to go over their blouses, that they are required to wear at zone conferences and Sunday meetings. Always they love gift cards for eating out or buying their own supplies.
