Semana Noventa y Tres (Week 93)

This week was super awesome. Tuesday we had pretty great visits all day. We met with a lady whose records were lost but are now found and it was really good! We also met someone who spoke yet another Guatemalan language I've never heard of. There are so many indigenous languages in Central America.

We also had a great lesson that night with M____ and her mom. We were going to extend a baptismal date but I received a prompting to hold off, and we ended up reading parts of Enos and it was super good!

We also had a lesson Thursday with a family where all are members but the parents. It went very well.

Probably the most notable thing of the week has been skill development. We're continuing to improve on our ability to "find our voice" and speak boldly about this message. We tend to get nervous because it's a bold claim that we make, but when we speak clearly and lovingly it tends to go very well. This is the most important message they will ever hear. To be free from sin, we must be baptized. We cannot be baptized without proper priesthood authority. We don't usually lead off with that, but we make it clear that we have an extremely important message, the truth was lost, and now it has been restored.

Planning has continued to improve. I will have to find some sort of planner app or get really good at using a calendar when I get home, because it's so useful and we are so much more effective as we make good plans. As we set goals, make plans, and stay focused on our goals we are much more likely to achieve them. We had an experience where we had several hours of "open time" and we decided we wanted to make the best of it. We made plans of places to go and people to visit, but what made the difference is that we had a contacting goal, and as we walked we remembered our goal and decided to do our part to reach it. So we exceeded it. It was pretty cool.

We also had a lesson with D____ this week. It went really well, but basically his dad told us that they may come to Church occasionally, but they are going to take him with them to their church. However, they said that if D____ wants to choose this Church, they will support him and they still intend to attend Church as a family, which means we would get them all! We're going to be working hard to make it happen, I really care about that family and want to help them.

We had a really cool fireside Saturday night where we had several people share their conversion stories, and all 3 areas had someone come, and they all loved it!

We also had M____ at church! She said that she really liked it and is excited to come back, so things are going very well there. We also had a really cool visit Sunday night with an awesome family, but it was crazy because their trailer doesn't have heating so the main area was cold enough that we could see our breath. It was a great lesson though; we taught simply and boldly.

Life is good here!

Love,

Elder Liddle
